Er, this is about the Navy right?

What are your strategies for SEO?

Senior Executive Officer. Well, first you’ve got to join the navy. Which, since I get seasick in a canoe, may not be a good indicator of my suitability to be a jolly Jack tar.

On the other hand, if it’s not the navy maybe it’s the SEO of a corporation. In which case, I’ll pass on that one. The sheer boredom of having to start at the bottom of the ladder and grovel my way to the top is unthinkable.

Maybe I’ve misunderstood. Is it Special Elderly Obesity? Nah. Don’t qualify for that either as I’m 75kg and eat too carefully to be considered for such a dull and frankly dangerous role.

I know! It’s Selective European Organisation. Ah! No. Pass. I think there’s something exceedingly dodgy about being a part of something where the fiddling of expenses, the sheer weight of authoritarian disunity and lack of ability to cohesively bring about effective change is somewhat off-putting. Just saying.

Or is it Strategic Engine Optimisation? Oh, that! That’s I.T. gobbeldygook* designed to make you feel completely insecure about how you use your website.

See it as a method used by marketing departments to get more money off you. Because that’s what it is.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an established fact that if you use the right meta-tags on the ‘pages’ of your website you can’t see, you have a greater chance that it might move clicks to your page(s).

Yay. Not. It doesn’t translate into profits immediately but there’s enough ‘experts’ out there who are very willing to take your wonga☆ and then lead you to think so. Read it again, it’ll make sense.

There’s 100’s of articles about this stuff. Great if you’re an insomniac. To the average person it’s gobbledygook [see above]. But hey, strategise away! You never know what might happen.

Happy Monday.
