What’s a moment that made you question reality?
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I wondered if it was a stunt, or a scene from a Hollywood movie.
But no, it was happening and the horror was real and the poor people trapped or falling was just hideous to watch.
The next day was somehow worse. All the newspapers had full colour pages and detailed stories of the 100’s of personal tragedies.
On reflection, I realised that I’d been conditioned by the realism of the movie industry to accept that I was watching something fake!! What!!??
But no, it was real. Real people, real and deadly hatred, real and horrific trauma and death.
Of course, there have been other disasters, catastrophes and wars since. They’re all horrible, that goes without saying almost.
The sooner humans can get to grips with the tit for tat approach to living and treating each other with dignity and respect, the better.
Alas, it’s a lost cause. Humans need a higher wisdom and someone with the power and the will to change things for the better.
Sad to say, it’s not possible for humans to achieve it without this. Thousands of years of human history is undeniable in that respect.
Sorry to be negative, it’s a negative topic after all.
