Like the song says: “always look on . . .

Describe one positive change you have made in your life.

The bright side of life. I’ve gone through several life shattering experiences in my life.

I’m not about to go into every detail. I’ve seen that others have lost their sense of identity, become introvert or just given up on friends, life and happiness.

The thing is, looking for the positive requires very real effort. A deep change to your mindset is a good start.

I remember a great tip from a professional person in the psychology field. I’d gone through a very rough period and experienced the ‘glancing in the abyss’ moment.

He suggested that I start writing 3 goals in my diary. 1 – is a top priority, 2 – is important but not so urgent and 3 – something that needed to be done but after 1 and 2.

Here’s the thing: what he described next was key. The next day record your results. Even if you didn’t achieve what you wanted, transfer the remaining or even the same goals to the next day.

The idea being that you start to realise that you can achieve your goals, modest or vital, and by positively reflecting you can reset your mind as deeply as possible in your situation.

It may sound simple but I’m telling you it saved my self-belief, helped me to get back on a positive track and got me back to my old, modestly humourous self.

Maybe that sounds too simple to be of any use, but I’m fairly sure it returned me to a much happier situation.

Looking back is also important. Not with regret. See and realise that whatever happens in your life, as negative as it may be, can be turned around in your favour  and to the benefit of your immediate friends and family members.

Can you do that? YES you can. WILL you? That’s up to you. There isn’t a circumstance where it won’t work. There’s also no gainsay argument.

I firmly believe that no-one needs to suffer from one or more bad decisions or things that happen beyond your control.

“Life is quite absurd . . . So always look on the bright side of life.” The (not quite) end. Cheer up, it could be worse! Don’t blame everyone else, do something about your situation because you can.

Looking back can make you trip on your own feet. Looking forward, one step at a time, keeps you moving.

Have a great day!
