That’s a big ask!!

How would you improve your community?

A very wise person once said “do to others what you would want them to do for you” or similar.

That’s one significant step that would immediately make a difference for everyone. Litter, ciggy butts, doggy doo, gone!

Smiling, friendly greetings and enquiring after the health and wellbeing of another. What’s not to like?

Showing interest in the care of each other. Mentally and physically. Positive and upbuilding remarks that might send your fellow human on their way with a warm feeling.

Sharing any excess you might have, because you want to. When someone can’t grow their own then share what you’ve got.

Or if you’re no gardener then offer to do something that may be useful to your neighbour.

Inventing a machine that would safely dispose of mobile phones so that people would actually talk to each other. (I’m aware of the irony, since I’m writing this on my mobile!)

Did I hear someone say pot, kettle,  black*? Good point well made. The buck stops here. Or does it start here?

As I see it, it starts with ‘me’. There’s no “i” in everyone.

Sadly, I’ve not seen a great many who follow that principle. Not that that will stop me from trying. Got to start somewhere right?

So start today. Good idea if you ask me!

* “pot, kettle, black” refers to a hypocrite☆ and is used to inferior that the ‘pot’ is as ‘black’ as the ‘kettle’. Geddit? Hurrah.

☆hypocrite is from Greek and literally translated means 2 faces. It was used in Greek tragedies 400 years before JC. You’re welcome!
