What’s something most people don’t understand?
Where do I start! Newton was a clever bloke, leagues ahead of me.
His 3rd law, which actually reads “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction ” is a fundamental law in the material world.
But it works for other levels. For instance, have you ever been unkind to someone? Either unintentional or deliberately? If you’re from the far East you’ll know about karma of course.
There’s a connection. The fact is that hurt, one way or another, comes right back at you. You can ignore it or pretend it’s not for any reason connected to you but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.
It works scientifically as can be seen when they launch rockets into space. This happens in unconscious obedience to the laws of the universe. Wanna launch something that weighs 400 tons? You’ll need a lot of combustion to achieve escape velocity, 11.2 kilometres per second!
You may think they launch straight up into the sky. Nice idea, no cigar! It has to be at an angle to take advantage of the rotation of the earth. It literally gets thrown off the planet!
Speaking of which, how come it’s the only habitable planet for carbon life forms (in all their wondrous diversity!) just the exact distance from our local star? And that star has exactly the right size and fusion capability to help sustain life on our little orb of dust?
Action/reaction, it’s at work everywhere. Alas, sometimes it’s out of control. Take cancer for example. My 1st wife died because of it. This was clearly NOT because she had done anything wrong. Cancer’s not bothered whether you’re good or bad, you’ve either got it or you haven’t. The reaction, the failure of her body to identify the cancerous cells, caused her demise.
So you may be reading this and thinking, ‘where’s he going with this?’. Well if you’ve done or said something unpleasant, you can expect a reaction, right?
But the same is true if you do some positive good. You may not ever notice the reaction to what you have said or done, but I can assure you absolutely that it is ALWAYS noticed.
Do or say something good today and you’ll get a positive reaction. Which just goes to show that Newton wasn’t that clever after all!
