Have you got one? They’re usually made of wood, could be porcelain, depends how wealthy your friends are.

I was awarded one many years ago by an old buddy of mine. He gave it me after the birth of my 2nd child. When he gave it to me he said “ you might need this, keep it handy somewhere.”

Mine was made of wood and it a single word on it, as above. I didn’t spend too much time looking for the definition as I was rather busy what with bringing up 2 kids and working 50 hours a week and looking after a 3 bed house, car and associated life expectations.

After some years had passed and my kids finally grew up and went on there way to being decent humans, I finally talked to my friend about his mysterious gift.

“I’ve looked in every dictionary old friend, but I can’t find this word in any of them. Even the mighty Google is completely stumped. (Well it was at the time!) So tell me, what’s that about?”

With a stupid grin all over his face he said, “don’t you get it yet, after all this time?!” He held it up and said “what shape is it?” “Round” said I. “So that makes it what exactly?” I was looking for some mythical answer but it was what I could clearly see but hadn’t connected the dots, so to speak.

I believe the next thing I said was some expletives or another as I’d finally figured it out. With the same stupid grin he said, “It’s for all those little tasks and jobs that you have finally got the time for. You see, I knew you’d get round to it in the end!”

I’m still in need of my little wooden tuwit. I’ve wanted to finish writing a sci-fi story I started years ago but never got round tuwit!
