Superficial or . . .

Are you a good judge of character?

“You can’t judge a book by its cover” is a popular English saying. But we do it all the time, right?

The way someone talks or appears can make us parachutists. Jumping out of the plane without really thinking.

Solution? Stop, think, listen. It always helps. Difficult if you have a brain that goes at 200 miles per hour!

Discernment helps. Can you tell the difference in what’s said and what’s meant?

I live in Holland and try to speak Dutch. 🫩😒 I’m not saying it’s hard, it’s nearly impossible as the syntax is completely different. What’s said may not be What’s meant.

So – listen, pause, think. Don’t judge. Try sympathy, empathy but not platitudes.

It’s becoming more important in the fragmented society we all live in. Hope this helps a little. 🤔🤔🤔
